India is a country of contrasts, and to experience this feeling mostly nothing better than traveling to Delhi. A city of misery and greatness of ramshackle houses to sumptuous palaces mazes of streets in the historic center of imperial Delhi and broad avenues.

We recommend travel to Delhi between November and March, as summer temperatures range 45 degrees and there are many sandstorms. It is also advisable to visit Delhi during the coloring Holi Festival, Held in late February and early March.

Delhi is a bustling city bazaars noisy and chaotic traffic of people, cars and elephants. However, Delhi is more striking, with palaces, temples and mosques, beautiful gardens and a maze of streets that will captivate you. You want to know that Delhi mysterious and intriguing?. We invite you to pass on their doors.

We begin our visit to Delhi in the Red Fort, also known as Lal QuilaThe most significant monument of the city. Located in the historic center, is the legacy of what was the Moghul Empire. It was built in the seventeenth century, and from the outset captivates its red sandstone walls.

In the west facade of the fortress you will see the famous Lahore Gate Symbol and the scene of the indigenous uprisings in 1857. You can visit the fortress from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 to 16.00.

Jama Masjid Mosque
Built between 1644 and 1656, this impressive building is situated on a hill, near the Red Fort and Old Delhi. We are in the largest mosque in India Because it can hold inside about 25,000 people if you pass in will see a beautiful courtyard, with a minaret to slits red and white. In every corner of the mosque there are small towers. You can climb them and have stunning views over the city. The mosque is open daily from dawn to dusk.

Qutb Minar
The minaret was completed in the fourteenth century and is about 72 meters high. Beautifully decorated with stories of the Quran, their feet are the Quwwat-ul-Islam, The oldest mosque in India. In one corner of the mosque you will see the Iron Pillar, A column with inscriptions in Sanskrit, dating from the fourth century. Legend has it that anyone who surrounds this column with their hands shall be given all their wishes.

Mausoleum of Humayun
This mausoleum is one of the best examples of Mughal architecture in Delhi. Many believe that he inspired the builder Taj MahalBecause it is similar. Humayun was the second Mughal Emperor, died in 1564, so that after his death built this mausoleum. It has a dome 38 meters high, and inside you can also see the Isa Khan Tomb.

Rashtrapati Bhavan
This building was recently constructed between 1919 and 1929, when King George V of England decided that the capital of India passed from Calcutta to Delhi. The palace now houses the residence of the President of India, a building with British roots. Admission is free and I recommend going to see him on Saturdays between 09.35 and 10.15 hours, when the guard parade in the gardens.

Chandni Chowk
Perhaps one of the best Delhi market located in the historic center is the best place to meet the popular Delhi, with its stalls and shops. Here you will find everything from spices from India to statuettes and other souvenirs. Without doubt the best place to buy your memory from Delhi.

India Gate
This is typical of a triumphal arch, 42 meters high, built to honor fallen soldiers in the First World War. Surrounded by gardens which enjoys special night under the arch is he was eternal. I recommend you visit it at night when lit is a spectacular landmark.

Capital India and one of the most visited cities, Delhi is home to wonderful temples, a traffic chaos at times deafening, but also some shelter in which to restore peace and contact with nature. Next, we visit some of those bits of paradise that exists in the city.

The Mughal Gardens are probably the most famous. These are parks that predate Rashtrapati Bhavan, The official residence of President of India. Both building and garden were designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and cover an area of 130 hectares.

Parks comprise the Rectangular Garden, the Garden Longitudinal and Circular Garden. Beds of small local flowers, waterways and manicured lawns recreate a field in the middle of spring.

The Rosa National Park is in the area of the capital known as Chanakya Puri. Here, fans of this kind of choice in the whole world can admire the most amazing exotic varieties brought from various parts of the world. Beauty lovers can also enjoy this garden.

The Lodi ParkOn the other hand is home to the tombs of two rulers of India: Sayyid and Lodi. However, it is very famous because of its flowering trees, fountains, artificial water courses and small lakes.

In the heart of this site, we found the Gumbad bbar, which is a mosque, built in 1494. Also found here Sheesh GumbadOr Crystal Mosque. Both are wonderful examples of architecture, and make the park an ideal place to visit.

Finally, Ajmal Khan Park is one of the most popular among tourists. Every day starting from the New Delhi hotels to marvel at its Musical Fountain, Which emits light that move to the beat of the melody. The waterfalls make a paradise, and this site is ideal for relieving heat in summer and to travel with children.
