This museum is named Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Marathi Sangrahalaya Vastu is one of the finest examples of Victorian architecture in Mumbai, the former BombayIn the state of Maharashtra, central west India.
One of the most important museums India, And contains more than fifty thousand pieces between different objects, relics, paintings and sculptures of different periods from the history of India, including the Indus Valley Civilization. The Arts section includes notable palm leaf manuscripts and paintings from various eras, including Pahari paintings of the early nineteenth century. There are pieces of ivory-era Gupta and decorative pieces such as textiles, ivories, jade, silver, gold and metal artistic dishes. Section Archaeology is valuable pieces from various excavations, terracotta figurines and sculptures from Female elephant. The Natural History section recreates the habitat of various species, dioramas and diagrams illustrating the wildlife of India, including flamingos, bison and tigers in India.
From the museum renovation project started in October 2008, was opened in March 2009 Krishna Gallery containing objects related to worship the Hindu god Krishna.
