Elephanta Island is an excellent destination for a trip from Bombay. It is very near there, and one hour by boat from the port city. In the arc India Gate is, indeed, where tickets are purchased for this Travel.
A just small fishing village lives in their lands, and takes its name from the sixteenth century when the Portuguese named it Elephanta to this end, based on the stone elephant that once adorned the entrance to the port. At present, the sculptures were taken to Victoria and Albert MuseumIn Bymulla.
