We already mentioned the importance and the great historical and architectural that make Hampi an unforgettable city of India. This imperial capital is home to many buildings that are part of a World Heritage Site since 1986. Let's meet some of them.
- Raghunathaswamy Malyavanta Temple was built along the lines of Dravidian style. Outstanding in its walls the figures carved in strange sea creatures and monsters which adorn and beautify the place.
- Virupaksha Temple, with a tower 37 meters high, is one of the most impressive. Inside are preserved icons of Shiva, Pampa and Bhuvaneswari. Some sections were dated in the eleventh century, and it would be older than the same rule of Vijayanagara.
- La Casa de la Victoria is a celebration of the victory of Krishnadeva Raya expedition against the king of Orissa . It was built on his return to the city. In the past, the kings of the empire occupied their thrones in the vast interior of this house and from there watched the nine-day festival taking place in Hampi.
- Hazara Ramaswami Temple, west of the Casa de la Victoria, was the site of worship for members of the royal family, who showed their devotion to the gods in this private place. It is decorated with a series of scenes from the Ramayana (the epic about the reincarnation of Rama), recorded on both sides of the wall.
- The Balance of the King is a peculiar monument, typical of Indian imperial culture. It is an immense scale in which the king was hard to match its weight in gold or grains, which were then distributed to the most deprived population.
In the same building are the Banos de la Reina, a pool surrounded by arched corridors and numerous balconies. Highlight the sources shaped lotus flower, beautiful and unusual.
