State Bihar is located north of India, right on the border with Nepal. With Patna its capital, is a region with almost no hills or forests, in fact, we are in the fertile plains of the sacred Ganges River.
Just north of the state is the district Darbhanga, with large marshes and dunes, crossed by numerous streams and tributaries of major rivers that form a beautiful landscape and biodiversity. And while the large wild animals disappeared in the eighteenth century, its variety of birds and fish remains enormous.
Fourteen villages Darbhanga are in an area of over seven thousand acres, preserved as a wetland Kusheshwarasthan Bird Sanctuary since 1972 because of its ecological, faunal and floral.
A large number of migratory birds spend the winter here, as the pelican Dalmatia, Which are estimated to be less than 1000 pairs in the world or the Siberian crane with only 2000 copies. Many others come from the plains of Bangladesh in the winter and as far afield as China, Pakistan and Mongolia.
The Bird Sanctuary is located about 45 km from the town of Darbhanga, is formed of 1400 ha and 202 lowland lakes.
Since we're here and see for you the Museum of the Royal Family of DarbhangaKnown for her love of art and culture, which was bringing together a stunning collection. This unique museum is located on the east bank of Mansarovar Lake.
