Bangalore city is famous for its monuments, temples and other interesting attractions that characterize it, but it is now known as the Silicon Valley. This poetic nickname as little surprise to an Indian town, and even more struck by the fact that relates to the industrial potential of the city.
However, it is a fact that Bangalore, Capital of Indian state Karnataka is an important site for companies engaged in information technology, and is also a leading exporter of the produce.
Back in the '90s Bangalore's reputation as the home of specialist companies in the research and development electronic goods and software began to expand. Soon it was identified with Technology and modernity and the peculiar nickname was mentioned, and that both contrasts with what we are accustomed to hearing Indian cities.
Electronics City was one of the earliest and most iconic companies setting up operations in Bangalore. Already in the 1970's, betting authorities technological development in the city and thus acquired almost a square kilometer and a half of land to set up its industrial park.
The origin of the nickname comes from a magazine called plus: The Total Computer Magazine, Which published an article entitled Can Bangalore become the Silicon Valley of India? Sure enough, years later I was shown that such was the fate of the city.
Already in 1987, the national government and a group of local and U.S. companies founded the institution known as Indian Professionals Association Silicon Valley. The aim was to assist those wishing to enter the software market. Thus it was that the nickname was enshrined forever.
